The Crayon Diary: Frog City-Library Collecting Stories!

CD Frog City 3

As a cartoonist who creates “The Crayon Diary” in a northwest Connecticut paper, I love it when communities celebrate their local/regional history. Willimantic has a wonderful rich history and culture and I love the iconic landmarks there.  Finding inspiration in Willimantic, I’ve been creating some cartoons to celebrate Frog City/Thread City and the surrounding Windham county and will begin sharing them with you here weekly!

The first cartoon in the series of Crayon Diary: Frog City is celebrating a special project being created by the library! The Willimantic, Connecticut public library is collecting memories and stories from the community and everyone is invited to participate in all aspects of the venture.

For some who enjoy learning more and want to learn how to conduct interviews, they are invited to be a potential interviewer for the project.

For some who have stories to tell, they will be invited to have their stories recorded!

This seems like a fun way for the community to rally together and preserve a legacy of knowledge!
